Six Students Killed in Dehradun Car Crash, One Injured

A devastating car crash in Dehradun claimed the lives of six students and left one seriously injured early Friday morning. The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. at ONGC Chowk, when the car, traveling at high speed, crashed into a truck from behind, leaving the vehicle severely damaged. Circle Officer (City) Neeraj Semwal confirmed that all six students died instantly, while the seventh student, who sustained injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The victims were all residents of Dehradun, except for one student, Kukreja, who was from Himachal Pradesh. Authorities are yet to reveal the identity of the educational institution the students were attending or the reason for their late-night travel. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The tragic news has shocked the local community, and tributes have poured in for the victims. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who was visiting Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag, expressed his grief over the incident. “The news of the death of six youths in a road accident in Dehradun is heartbreaking. I pray that the departed souls find peace, and I offer my deepest condolences to the grieving families,” Dhami said.

In the wake of the crash, local authorities have announced plans to review and strengthen safety measures at ONGC Chowk, an area known for accidents. Investigators are looking into whether factors such as excessive speed, driver negligence, or road conditions contributed to the collision. The tragic incident has left the families of the victims devastated, and the entire region is in mourning as they come to terms with the loss of young lives.
