AI-Enhanced Deceptions on the Rise

A surge in AI-powered fraudulent activities, exemplified by the recent Bharti Enterprises incident, is alarming. Perpetrators are resorting to advanced technologies to mimic voices and pretend to be someone else, aiming to deceive individuals for financial gain or to obtain confidential data. Shockingly, scammers have even gone as far as utilizing AI to orchestrate virtual scenarios resembling arrests by law enforcement, coercing victims into monetary transactions.

In the wake of various prominent instances of AI-enabled scams, Mittal issues a cautionary statement. Notably, SP Oswal, the Vardhman Group Chairman, fell victim to a scam amounting to ₹7 crore.
