In a recent interview with Paper Magazine, BLACKPINK’s Rose opened up about her romantic experiences, sharing that she has encountered her own set of “toxic relationships” resembling those commonly faced by young women in their early 20s. Reflecting on her past, Rose expressed appreciation for the various relationship encounters she has navigated, emphasizing her relatability to other young women her age by stating, “I believe I’ve been fortunate to have undergone several relationships, similar to any ordinary 23-year-old girl. It’s important for me that people recognize my similarities to an average girlfriend.
The APT vocalist emphasized that her new music can resonate with anyone who has experienced not just toxic romantic relationships, but any form of such connections. She highlighted that her songs are likely relatable to those who have encountered similar dynamics, clarifying that the relationship need not be limited to romantic ties but can encompass any detrimental connection.
Rose emphasized her intention to address the common vulnerabilities experienced by individuals in their twenties in her music, aiming to create a more relatable connection with her fan base. The BLACKPINK vocalist expressed, “One’s twenties pose numerous challenges. It is a phase characterized by vulnerability, confusion, excitement, and frustration towards life. This is the essence I wish to capture in my songs.” In her forthcoming album, the 27-year-old artist plans to shed light on themes such as “manipulation and betrayal of emotions,” encapsulating the tumultuous nature of one’s twenties.
Rose expressed her desire for her forthcoming album to serve as a platform for people to perceive her true self accurately, rather than constantly misunderstanding her. “Ultimately, I aim for others to grasp my essence and cease misinterpreting me. I am prepared to display more vulnerability, openness, and honesty to prevent any misconceptions and for them to accept me as I truly am,” she articulated during the same discussion.
Since stepping into the entertainment industry, Rose has found herself amidst various dating speculations regarding her romantic life. Initially linked with South Korean actor Kang Dong Won following their appearance together at a social event, rumors were swiftly dismissed by Rose’s agency. Subsequently, the 27-year-old artist was rumored to be romantically involved with ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo, with conjectures sparked by similarities in their Instagram posts.
