Around a specific age, growth plates in the bones, which are accountable for height increase, typically close, halting any further upward growth in stature.

In the view of Krish Ashok, an author and content creator, eggs are a rich source of nutrients and can contribute to height growth. He highlighted that children in government schools who include eggs in their mid-day meals tend to show less stunting and better height development compared to those who avoid eggs due to religious beliefs. During a conversation with Nitin Thakur, Ashok emphasized the superfood status of eggs.

Eggs contain six grams of protein, and he noted that the yolk is rich in fat-soluble vitamins.

Starting the day with eggs is a popular choice for many individuals due to their convenience and speedy preparation time for breakfast. Eggs are rich in vital nutrients such as riboflavin and selenium, which play a role in supporting different bodily functions. Additionally, experts highlight that egg whites are a favored option as they are low in fat and devoid of cholesterol, making them ideal for individuals aiming to regulate their weight or cholesterol levels.

Dr. Bhavana P, the head dietitian at Gleneagles Hospitals in Lakdi Ka Pul, Hyderabad, emphasized the nutritional value of eggs, highlighting their abundance of high-quality protein essential for muscle growth, tissue repair, and development. According to Dr. Bhavana, eggs are also a rich source of vital vitamins and minerals like vitamin D, facilitating calcium absorption crucial for bone health. Ensuring sufficient calcium intake plays a pivotal role in fortifying bones, which is vital for reaching one’s maximum height potential.

Dr. Bhavana highlighted that eggs contain essential vitamins and minerals such as iron, phosphorus, and vitamin B12, which play a crucial role in supporting various bodily functions and promoting growth.

According to Fauziya Ansari, a dietitian at Apollo Spectra Mumbai, eggs are commonly thought to offer substantial health advantages for overall physical health. Yet, there isn’t a clear connection between egg consumption and height enhancement. Ansari emphasized that neither eggs nor any other food like vegetables or fruits can magically boost your height. She pointed out that genetics, nutritional factors, and physical exercise play key roles in determining one’s height.

Dr. Bhavana echoed Ansari’s sentiment, emphasizing that the growth of the fetus and bone health hinges on a combination of parental genetics, proper nutrition during pregnancy, physical activity, and a well-rounded diet.

Once individuals reach a particular age, the growth of their height ceases as the growth plates in the bones, which are in charge of height augmentation, begin to close.

Ansari cautioned against unquestioningly embracing everything encountered online or integrating it into one’s daily routine. He emphasized that the hacks or videos circulating on the internet are frequently unverified or misleading, potentially exacerbating widespread misconceptions.

Regular participation in activities such as cycling, yoga, and stretching has been indicated by studies to potentially contribute to height gain of a few inches.
