“India Has Credibility To Mediate In Ukraine War”: David Cameron At NDTV World Summit
Mr. Cameron expressed his belief that India possesses the necessary credibility to act as a mediator in the Ukraine war during the NDTV World Summit.
New Delhi:
David Cameron, the ex-Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, emphasized during the Hindustan Times Summit that India holds significant potential in de-escalating the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Mr. Cameron mentioned at the NDTV World Summit that India possesses the necessary credibility to act as a mediator in the conflict in Ukraine.
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine, now lasting over two and a half years, continues without any indication of progress in ceasefire negotiations.
According to Mr. Cameron, while India could potentially act as a mediator, it must guarantee that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not permitted to seize territory through military means.
President Putin expressed on Friday that while it is challenging to determine a specific timeframe for concluding the extended conflict in Ukraine, he asserted that Russia will emerge victorious. He also commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his attentiveness towards the ongoing situation.
Both Russia and Ukraine have refuted accusations of deliberately attacking civilians throughout the 2-1/2-year conflict initiated by Russia against its smaller neighboring country by means of a comprehensive invasion.
President Putin has given his approval to Prime Minister Modi’s characterization of the BRICS Summit scheduled to be held in Moscow, asserting that the Indian leader accurately pointed out that it is not a coalition against the West, but rather one that stands apart from Western influence.
He emphasized that the grouping, which has grown from its original five members to encompass an additional five countries, should not be perceived as a “bloc-style organization”.
