During the IIFA Utsavam awards show held in Dubai, Rana Daggubati entertained the audience with humorous remarks targeting Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who was awarded Woman of the Year.

After an award was presented to Samantha by Vicky Kaushal, she delivered a heartfelt speech detailing her return following a hiatus caused by poor health. Upon concluding her speech, Rana lightened the mood by teasing, “Samantha transitioned from Tollywood to Hollywood. She went from being my sister-in-law to simply being my sister,” which elicited laughter from her.

What is the relationship between Rana and Samantha?

Samantha, unfamiliar to some, was in a marital relationship with Naga Chaitanya from 2017 until 2021, following a period of intermittent dating prior. Naga Chaitanya, who is related to Rana on the Daggubati family’s side, is currently betrothed to Sobhita Dhulipala.

Nagarjuna, the father of Chaitanya, was previously married to Rana’s aunt, Lakshmi Daggubati, from 1984 to 1990. Later on, he tied the knot with Amala.
